Why is underfloor heating better?
Convection based systems using radiators heat the air next to them, which then rises up the walls and along the ceiling. It then cools and descends, to be reheated by the radiators. The room is warmed from the top down, which leads you to overheat your head in order to get your feet warm enough.
Underfloor heating
Underfloor heating warms from the floor upwards, warming your extremities first. It generates radiant heat, which radiates outwards from the floor, without using air currents.
